Message from Barbara

I am thrilled to support Matt Kellway as our next NDP candidate in Beaches-East York. Best of luck, Matt, in your upcoming campaign. You can count on my vote, whenever Harper finds he can’t run from the voters any longer!

A big thanks to my supporters who came out to vote for me on Sunday and of course to my dedicated campaign team volunteers.

East York Meet and Greet at Stan Wadlow Clubhouse

The Stan Wadlow Meet and Greet put on by the  Beaches-East York NDP on Sunday was very well attended. There were people who are new and renewing members in the NDP, and I was delighted to welcome them. It is gratifying to know that my campaign is generating such enthusiasm.

Riding Association Meet-and-Greets

Two weeks ago I hosted a meet and greet at Small World Café on the Danforth. It was an excellent opportunity for me to talk informally with members over coffee and pastry. I plan to continue to host similar events and will be sure to keep you informed about these and other activities from my campaign team.

I want to take this opportunity to remind you of two meet and greet get-togethers that the Beaches-East York NDP riding association is hosting this coming week:

DATE: Thursday November 26
TIME: 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm
LOCATION: The Alexander Residence, 30 Balsam Avenue, (south of Queen)

DATE: Sunday November 29th
TIME: 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm
LOCATION: Stan Wadlow Clubhouse, 373 Cedervale Avenue, (north of Cosburn)

I hope that you will be able to join me for some light refreshments and conversation. I want to listen to your opinions and ideas about the NDP’s work in Ottawa and how I can have a positive impact as a strong New Democratic Member of Parliament who can get the job done for Beaches-East York.

I am looking forward to seeing you and hope you will support me in championing our NDP values in Ottawa.

Join me for coffee at Small World Café

Hi. Thanks for stopping by my campaign journal. I’ll be writing about events around the riding, and my work to reach out to New Democrats in Beaches East York.

On Sunday, November 8, you can meet me and my team at The Small World Café (1775B Danforth Avenue – just east of Coxwell Avenue). I’m hosting this coffee party from 3pm to 5pm, so that we can help renew your membership, and give you a chance to be heard in this nomination.

Everyone is welcome. There’s a playspace for children, coffee for the adults, pastries for all.

I have been involved in NDP politics literally all my life and I have been a candidate for office before. I know how important active volunteers are to any successful campaign. That’s why I want to meet you in person.

Good government starts with being heard. And I want to hear from you, because it’s an important first step towards winning back the riding for the NDP. Drop in on Sunday and we’ll talk over coffee and pastries.

See you then.
